Whitevale, as well as Clarkes Hollow, is along the Seaton Hiking Trail. Hikers can enter the trail here and head either north or south. This entry point is located south east of the Whitevale Road Altona Road intersection. There is free parking and a small shelter right at the entrance. There is also an outdoor facility but no running water, other than the stream which runs along the trail. You can take the trail south to Clarkes Hollow or north to Green River. The south trail crosses some ravines and follows some very steep cliffs, not good for the hiking impaired. There are lots of cedar forests. I have seen beaver and large turtles along the trail, lots of wild life. In the spring the ground is covered with both white and red trilliums, very beautiful.
